The Versatile Blogger award

I couldn't be happier to tell you guys about a recent award I was given. The versatile blogger award! I was given this by Kristin over at Lovely Apidae (she has the most amazing pictures I highly suggest checking her out) and Lisa from Sweet Laundry Loves (who has fantastic taste and actually predicted Arcade Fires win at the Grammy's). Thank you ladies!

What to do when you receive this award:
Thank those you gave you the award and link their blogs in your post. List seven things about yourself and award this to seven recently discovered bloggers and contact the bloggers to let them know they received the Versatile Blogger Award.

1. I have a really difficult time making and sticking to decisions. I frequently return things. I've changed career paths too many times to count.

2. I am 100% terrified of snakes. The recent Egyptian cobra escape has heightened my fears. I've actually been having nightmares about snakes. In the most recent dream a boa constrictor (think Anaconda size) coiled itself around me and sank its fangs into my shoulder. The boa was in cahoots with the escaped cobra, allowing the snake to hypnotically sway in front of me before the cobra finished me off with a fatal bite to the neck.

3. I broke my ankle when I was 16, but didn't realize it until I sprained the same ankle about a year later. I think sprains truly are more painful than breaks.

4. About once a week I lose my cell phone or my phone charger.

5. I'm presenting research on the stigma of ADHD (specifically how to manipulate it) in Chicago in May. I'm extremely excited and incredibly nervous to present in such a forum.

6. I've gone on numerous mission trips with my church. The most memorable trip was in Cortez Colorado aiding the Ute people. I have never forgot the lessons I've learned on these trips and hope to go on more.

7. I'm incredibly afraid that I will one day become a hoarder. Basically every member of my family is one. I already see signs of trouble. I have clothing from high school, books from childhood, and boxes of travel mementos (like shampoo and lotion from a trip to France ten years ago, is that even good anymore?). I'm trying to institute a rule, every new thing brought in means one old thing must go. It is slowly killing my soul.

Now to finish up I'm supposed to tag seven recently discovered bloggers. Because I took my sweet time in responding to this award many of my new favorite bloggers have already been tagged. So I've come up with a shorter list of bloggers.

1) Laura from the Blog of Worldly Delights
2) That Damn Green Dress
3) Courtney Erin from Sartorial Sidelines

  5. Kristin-It was, and I have to say I often dream of snakes, I should say I often have nightmares about them! I think it's because I think about my dreams right before I go to sleep and often you dream about the things you thought of before you go to sleep. I try not to but I can't help it! Thank you for the well wishes!

Bombshell- I'm sorry, didn't mean to taint your dreams as well!

Courtney- Thank you! I hope I do well! It's the first time I will present alone, so hopefully the fear won't freeze me!

Rebecca- It's nice when at least one of you is good at it! My bf is pretty good about it as well, at least when it comes to my stuff...:)

  6. This snakes nightmare sounds like...well, a nightmare. I have the weirdest nightmares too. I'm afraid of tornadoes, so maybe that's why I dream about them alot. I wonder what this all means? We should look it up!

  7. I am in agreement about the snakes. My ears close up when I think of them.... seriously - it is the flight or fight thing... when I read your dream my eyes closed up and I couldn't think about anything else.

And, no, the old stuff from your trip to France is no good. It could give you a rash! I would just toss it. My hubby likes to safe stuff, too. But we live full-time in an RV so there is no place to keep stuff. At least he is organized... so that is nice. I tried the "1 in - 1 out" with shoes. Once all of my flip-flops were gone that plan went right out the window. :) Let me know how it goes! Cheers!

  8. Steph, Thanks so much for the tag! I ♥ you!
    1. I change my mind so many times, it pisses even me off.
2.I'm sorry you have horrible snake dreams:( Snakes can be scary!
3.OUCH! I used to sprain my ankle all the time in elementary school. I have no idea why I was so clumsy then. It may also be that I had an obsession with platforms when I was 12/13. Seriously.
4.I have no idea where my phone is. Maybe it's chilling with your phone?
    5. You will do fantastic in your presentation! I am sure of it!

  9. Thanks so much!! heh- I like to watch the hoarder programs because then I think that I'm not so very bad at all, but I have a hard time getting rid of clothing (since everything has some sort of association) but my 2 cats are very much alive and I do put out my recycling regularly!!!

  11. Congrats on the award : )

and as for hurting your ankle as a kinesiologist you need to strengthen it so you don't continue to injure yourself!

  15. Congrats on your award!

You know what...I like snakes. I use to have a boa about 13 years ago....had to give it to a relative. At that time I was in an apartment...no snakes allowed.
