Training

I've recently been quite dedicated to list I've loosely made. It's a 30 things to do before I'm 30 list. I've not written it down, it's completely mentally based. This type of list suits me perfectly, I can add or subtract anything I want, whenever I want. At one point in time I thought it was necessary to get over my fear of snakes. I no longer feel the need to do so.
One thing I've always felt the desire to do would be to run a 5k. I signed up for the Old Glory Run 2011! The run is in the end of May (the 21st to be exact) so I've been feverishly training. All right, I started this week and haven't even run 3.5 miles at a time. I'm getting there. Yesterday I ran 2.5 miles in 30 minutes. I feel good about my time, even if it means it took me 15 minutes to run 1.25 miles. Today I'm working on 3 miles.

Shoes: Worthington

These pictures reminded me of how much my hair needs to be dyed. I couldn't even put up some of the pictures because the blonde was showing way too much! This time I'm dying it myself. So if my hair looks green next time you see me, you know it didn't go well!

  2. That is so cool. I've been thinking about taking up running lately too. I've been in a bad shape lately and want to get back to my old self. I read about this Couch to 5k program that sounds really good (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml) in case you want to check it out! good luck!

  3. Awesome! Good luck with training, etc. I have tried the Couch to 5k program that Mrs Spanglish mentioned and it is a really good program. Just please be sure to get some really good shoes ASAP! That is actually how I injured my foot (3 + weeks of the couch to 5k program wearing really crappy shoes). When I started the program, I told myself that I would get some good running shoes if I stuck with it for 1 month. That was one of the worse mistakes I have ever made. Get good shoes now! Let us know how it goes.

Love your outfit. That scarf is beautiful!

  5. I wish I had the discipline to be a runner - good for you! And I know what you mean about the hair dye - I'm working on a great skunk stripe down the middle of my head right now.

  7. Awesome that you are running! I really want to take that up - I have to lose a few more lbs so my knees don't hurt. I love your wedge shoes - btw - and they look great with the tattoos. I am not brave enough to get a tat on my foot... OUCH! :) I have one on my back and ready to get another. Cheers!

  9. Excellent, Steph! Running gets easier...just make yourself put on the shoes and go. The first 5 minutes are the hardest. Congrats on your goal! And buying cute workout clothes always helps. Look cute, feel good. (Luluelmon is the best, by the way!)

  11. I like all the layers and the scarf! Good luck with your training and the run. I like the idea of mental list making!

(And to answer your question on my blog about pattern mixing... I just go with what I like and look for colors that are in the same hue/family. Miss Vinyl Ahoy has a great how-to-pattern-mix in the DIY section of her blog!)
