Today I decided to a plunge. Not the polar plunge. The plunge into brussel sprouts.
My brother loves them.
I, however, wasn't so sure.
Then I took a picture of them.
What is that film on them?
I washed them, I swear!
They are looking less appetizing by the second.
I followed a recipe by my brother, basically a la Ina Garten
I cut them in half
Covered them in olive oil, salt and pepper.
Then I baked them for 20 minutes
If your wondering, this isn't the picture of the baked sprouts.
By the time they were done the Minnesota Sun had gone down.
Ok, truthfully, I burned them, so they didn't look super-duper amazing.
I was slightly embarrassed by my lack of domestic goddess skills.
Verdict on the taste? Delicious.
Turns out my brother was right! They were crunchy and scrumptious.
I will be making this puppies again.
Do any of you have a good recipe for Brussel Sprouts?
Mmmmmmmmm! I love brussel sprouts (and don't worry, that "film" is totally normal:)! Ben usually makes them with honey and walnuts. I don't have the recipe, but I think it's pretty simple. Cut in half, saute in butter/salt/pepper, and then when they are almost done, add honey and walnuts.
ReplyDeleteKristin-that sounds so good! I think I'm going to try that next time! Thanks for the tips!
